A spherical roller bearing solid-block housed unit has played an integral role in solving a constant bearing problem on the tail drum of the main conveyor in a Queensland sand washing operation.
Frequent bearing failures at a sand washing operation in Queensland meant the plant had to replace the bearings as frequently as every week. The washed fine sands passing over the belt conveyor penetrated the bearings, causing excessive wear in the elements.
