Safe Work Australia has released a new checklist to help companies develop a work health and safety statement easier than ever before.
Safe Work Australia has published an updated work health and safety (WHS) consultation checklist to help a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) to better understand their duties towards ensuring the safety of their employees.
If you’re a PCBU, you must consult with workers (and any health and safety representatives) and other duty holders to manage WHS risks. Safe Work Australia says that it has developed this checklist to help PCBUs to ensure that they have arrangements in place that support effective consultation.
The checklist is available to download here and can help a PCBU understand when they need to consult their workers, how to engage in effective consultation, highlight areas where knowledge needs to be strengthened and, overall, improve the process of implementing an effective WHS strategy that meets requirements.
