A multinational mineral processing provider has introduced its new global brand to Australia, headed by a leader with more than 30 years’ experience in the local mining and aggregates sectors.

Haver & Boecker, a provider of materials handling and processing systems in the extractive sector, has introduced its Haver & Boecker Niagara brand to the Australian market. It will operate under the tutelage of experienced general manager John Brotherson.

Officially formed in April this year, Haver & Boecker Niagara offers screening, washing, pelletising and primary crushing systems that combine the engineering expertise and product portfolios of the company’s three mineral processing hubs in Brazil, Canada and Germany.

These locations previously acted individually for their respective regions, but customers are now expected to benefit from shared technology, more in-depth consultations, improved parts availability and delivery times.

Brotherson will lead the Australian team that will work directly with local producers to streamline and improve their overall processing businesses. This will include supporting mines and quarries with customised crushing plant systems in a wide variety of configurations, guiding clients through design and installation, as well as aftermarket spare part and technical support.

“To date there has been a very positive response from the quarrying and mining sectors,” Brotherson said. “Australia offers immense opportunity for mining and aggregates operations. Our team is motivated by customer success and is ready to provide the quality service for which Haver & Boecker Niagara has become known.”

With 32 years of industry experience, Brotherson has been involved in fixed plant and mobile equipment operations with various commodities in the mining and aggregate sectors. Prior to joining the company, he had experience with two global blue-ribbon original equipment manufacturers.

“I understand the industry’s demands and expectations,” Brotherson said. “By this I mean not only does the product need to perform, but the people from the initial design through to aftermarket support need to outperform, as it’s a total experience that will bring the best results for our customers.”

Across its manufacturing locations, Haver & Boecker Niagara combines technology and initiatives in four major areas: heavy-duty scalping in Germany; consultations and visits to screening process facilities in Canada; wide-body screening innovated in Brazil; and new approaches to washing and pelletising processes.

With a new mineral processing focus on the Australian market and “an exciting, new local team”, Karen Thompson, the president of Haver & Boecker Niagara’s North American and Australian operations, said the new business arm was well equipped to serve the extractive industry “with spare parts availability, technical consultation, and the shared Niagara brand engineering knowledge”.

“John’s years of experience and enthusiasm for the industry will help us establish the Haver & Boecker Niagara name across Australia,” Thompson said.
