Metso Outotec has acquired Davis Wear Plate Systems, an Australian fastener and wear monitoring technology company to grow its solutions portfolio.
The fasteners and wear technology will be provided to Metso Outotec’s minerals customers in mining, quarrying and processing.
Davis Wear Plate Systems fasteners are designed with a locking mechanism that does not require traditional studs and nuts, providing faster and safer maintenance work.
The company’s folio also features wear monitoring technology, enabling real time monitoring to report wear and expected liner change-out timing. It can be installed to any metallic or ceramic liner, without the need of attachment systems.
According to Metso Outotec’s president of consumables business area Sami Takaluoma, the acquisition adds to its wide range of wear protection solutions.
“This acquisition supports our target to offer comprehensive and unique solutions for the entire wear lining value chain,” Takaluoma said.
“We are eager to introduce these advanced solutions globally to our customers. We now have the market’s widest range of optimised wear protection solutions, tools and services.

Davis Wear Plate Systems’ technology is used by major mining companies, including Rio Tinto, BHP Group and Fortescue Metals Group in Australia.
“We have been improving our product offering for years and we have received good feedback from our customers in Australia,” Davies Wear Plate Systems founder Brian Davies said. “Our products are ready to be rolled out to the global mining market. The value of the transaction has not been revealed.
