Check out the latest updates from the WA Mining Conference and Exhibition (WA Mining) 2025 as it continues for a second day in Perth.
The WA Mining Conference and Exhibition (WA Mining) 2025 continues today in Perth, following a strong opening yesterday that saw a full house across key sessions and keen interest in sustainability, innovation and the state’s growing role in critical minerals supply chains.
Mines and Petroleum Minister David Michael kicked off day one of the conference with remarks that outlined Western Australia’s position as a global leader in responsible, tech-enabled resource development.
Fortescue’s session on eliminating fossil fuels also drew a packed audience, while live demonstrations and stalls across the exhibition floor gave attendees a firsthand look at how emerging technologies are being deployed in real time.
Today’s program will begin with the opening remarks from the state’s Resource and Environmental Regulation deputy director general Andrew Chaplyn.
Anita Logiudice from the Chamber of Minerals and Energy WA will continue proceedings with an economic outlook presentation that will highlight recent market trends, as well as industry and policy developments over the past year.
Mid-morning, a panel on the Resourceful Mind program from Lifeline WA and Chamber of Minerals and Energy will also be showcased, focusing on peer support and mental health in mining workplaces.
In the afternoon, sessions will cover materials handling, sustainable mining policy, workforce development strategies, site safety, regulatory compliance, and maximizing asset performance through digital tools.
On the exhibition floor, over 150 companies continue to demonstrate technologies tackling real-world mining challenges.
Registration remains open for those wishing to attend the remaining sessions and explore the exhibition before the event wraps up this evening.
