The chairman of the conference organising committee, Dayne Steggles, told Quarry a number of major developments point to “another memorable occasion”.
This year, the annual conference’s keynote address will be delivered by Holcim Australia CEO Mark Campbell, who’s company employs over 3000 people. Steggles says the organisation’s vision is to provide the foundations for society's future, tying into the conference’s theme, “Tomorrow's Resources Today”.
An impressive roster of international speakers will join Campbell, including Dallas Wilkinson, Orica Vice President Operations CISMAC, who will deliver an overseas perspective on extraction industries.
John Best, the General Manager Aggregates for the McLanahan Corporation, will be flying in from Galiton, Tennessee to speak on the latest in sand technologies from the USA.
Andi Lusty from Kayasand in New Zealand will also lead attendees through an international perspective on sand technologies.
Steggles encourages all IQA members and other interested quarry parties to check the conference website – www.alloccasionsgroup.com/IQA2011 – for the latest updates.
According to Steggles, delegate numbers have grown quickly, with a number of international colleagues joining from across the globe.
“There lies one of the true benefits in attending the conference – the chance to make new connections and join in discussions on new practice and experience beyond our own shores,” opined Steggles. “It is a guarantee I give you all that by attending this year's conference and engaging in conversation you will go away with greater professional breadth. It is one of the true benefits in joining us at this year's IQA Annual Conference.”
Steggles also promised that delegates and their partners will also be treated to an exciting social program: “The Orica Ladies Day has more buzz than a bee farm!” he exclaimed. “This is not surprising given all the wonderful attractions available in the Hunter Valley through to our beautiful coast. The social program has so much to offer and I encourage all delegates to take up the offer for their partners to share in these great events.”
