Holcim and Allied Concrete have decided to go their own way as part of AML Limited’s concrete plant sales.
AML is a joint venture between Holcim and Allied Concrete, which trades under Allied Concrete in the North Island and Ashby’s Ready Mixed in the South Island.
Holcim will operate 20 plants in the North Island, including Avondale, Bombay and Horotiu. The company will also operate Ashby’s Ready Mixed in Christchurch, under its existing brand.
Holcim said in a statement the new arrangement would be operational from November 2023.
“ACL and Holcim have mutually agreed to further their business strategies independently and conclude this joint venture,” they said in a statement.
“Subject to New Zealand regulatory approvals, the new operational arrangements will be in place from November 2023.”
ACL will operate the remaining sites at Silverdale, Penrose and Hautapu Rd in the North Island. ACL plants in the South Island will not be affected under the agreement.
AML will continue to operate its Gisborne, Nuhaka Quarry, and Whanganui plants.
“Both ACL and Holcim are committed to continuing to deliver outstanding service, maintaining their high levels of health and safety and ensuring continuity for staff, customers and suppliers,” they said in a statement.
