The organisers of the exhibition to be held at Sydney?s Olympic Park from 6 to 9 September have recently announced this year?s format. They also made the decision to release another 5000 square metres of floor space, making room for an additional 50 exhibitors.
Each day of the exhibition will have its own theme, incorporating information and demonstration sessions, along with special networking events. The first day will be Safety Day, incorporating demonstrations and advice sessions. The second day will be dedicated to Women in Mining. This element is aimed at encouraging more women to join the mining industry.
Careers and training will be the topic of the third day?s events, including demonstrations and advice relevant to safety, skills, careers and education. ?Safety and skills shortages are, of course, key areas for the mining industry, which is why we are focusing on these,? said Paul Baker, exhibition director with Reed Mining Events.
The focus will shift to International Day on 9 September, where the emphasis will be on international exhibitors. Paul Baker said that it would give Australian companies looking to export the opportunity to showcase skills, products and services.
Besides the daily themes, the organisers will have the ?Frontliners? focus extending over the whole event. The idea is aimed at the resources and infrastructure industry?s frontline personnel, including operators, fitters, foremen, supervisors and the like. It will give these frontliners the chance to rub shoulders during daily networking and social events.
With a variety of first time exhibitors at AIMEX and the unprecedented demand for more exhibition space, there will be a total of 550 exhibitors. An increase in participants means that a lot of companies will use the event to launch new products and services. Visitors are encouraged to pre-register online at www.aimex.com.au.
