Sandvik is showcasing its AutoMine® Surface Fleet solution, which can support drilling in quarrying operations.

Sandvik’s AutoMine® Surface Fleet is transforming how quarries and surface mines approach drilling, delivering scalable automation, precision, and operational flexibility. Designed for Sandvik’s iSeries surface drill rigs, the system allows operators to manage fleets of more than 15 rigs from any connected location, whether onsite or remote.

AutoMine® Surface Fleet also leverages AutoCycle capabilities for continuous rig operation with minimal human intervention, automating processes such as stabilising, precise positioning, collaring, drilling, reliable pipe handling, hole finishing and tramming to the next hole.

The FleetBasic and FleetFlex features support dynamic rig handover and layout-based station setups, adapting to the unique requirements of each site.

“The system is fully compatible with the AutoMine® Universal Station, allowing the operation of both boom and rotary drills even in challenging environments, such as rock and weather conditions,” said Sandvik Mining product line manager for surface automation for  Severi Eerola said.

“This ensures every shift can be run at optimal performance, regardless of the conditions, by providing a fully integrated solution that allows mining operations to run continuously and efficiently, even during blast breaks.”

Supporting mixed fleet operations, the AutoMine® Universal Operator Station encourages collaboration across teams and allows operators to develop new skills while working more effectively together.

The field-proven Universal Station Conversion Kit also provides the ability to convert an existing AutoMine® surface drilling control station to a Universal Operator Station.

For quarry operations, the advantages are clear. AutoMine® Surface Fleet improves rig utilisation, reduces exposure to hazards, and provides flexible control options, making it a future-ready solution for smarter, safer, and more efficient drilling.
