Tier 4 grader promises fewer emissions, fuel economy

Komatsu’s upgraded GD655-6 grader retains all the benefits of its predecessor, while lowering ownership and operating costs.

The GD655-6 is powered by a Komatsu SAA6D107E-3 Tier 4 Final-compliant variable kilowatt engine that reduces both particulate matter (PM) and nitrous oxide (NOx) levels by up to 90 per cent on earlier models, while reducing fuel consumption by up to 15 per cent.

Komatsu’s lock-up torque converter transmission with electronic control provides the option of automatic torque converter mode and manual mode.

The reinforced blade circle enhances durability.

Data can be accessed and managed via the KOMTRAX telematics remote monitoring system.
