New model excavators raise productivity

One of the next generation excavators from Caterpillar — the 336 — will be on display in Sydney at the National Construction Equipment Convention in November.

The 336 and the corresponding 336 GC offer maximum productivity with their power and lift capacity.

The 336 GC excavator — which is more suitable for quarrying applications — has a net power of 194kW at 1900 revolutions per minute (rpm). Its heavy-duty bucket is 1.88m3 with a bucket driving force of 197kN.

The 336 excavator has a net power of 232kN at 1550 rpm and a larger bucket of 2.36m3 with a bucket driving force of 210kN. Both excavators feature standard integrated Cat Connect Technology.

The optional Cat Grade with 3D features a second high resolution colour 254mm (10-inch) touchscreen monitor with clear daylight readability and Gorilla glass for durability. It is equipped with powerful graphics and customisable 3D vision to assist with operator productivity.

The standard Cat Payload on-board weighing system enables precise load or production targets to be met. When trying to figure out what has gone through the crusher, this technology provides precise production load targets with on-the-go weighing.
