New crushing, screening plant showcased at live quarry

A quarry supplier has showcased some of the latest mobile crushing and screening equipment in live demonstrations at an open day event.

Lincom Group, the Australian distributor for Powerscreen, held its open day event in November at an active quarry site in Moora, Western Australia.

Lincom customers from across Australia and New Zealand met at the supplier’s office in Perth and were able to gain a glimpse of the service, spare parts and technical support hub before being transported north to the Moora site via private bus.

At the quarry – which was temporarily shut down for the purposes of the two-day event – attendees observed live demonstrations of a crushing and screening train comprising Powerscreen’s new Premiertrak 600 jaw crusher and 1150 Maxtrak pre-screen cone crusher, and the established Chieftain 2100X incline screen.

“We hosted the event at an active quarry because we wanted to let attendees get up and close to the equipment while it was operating in a hard working environment,” Lincom managing director Stephen Watterson told Quarry.

While staff from the Moora quarry site operated the plant, technical representatives from Powerscreen and Lincom outlined to attendees the main features of the machines, which were designed for ease of operation, serviceability and maintenance.

Several international representatives travelled down from Powerscreen’s UK headquarters to support the event, including a dealer manager, product manager and technical support engineer.

“This gave customers an opportunity to speak directly with the people who manufacture and design the machines,” Watterson said, adding that the international presence was evidence of the strong relationship between Lincom and Powerscreen.

Event success

Stephen McCartney, Powerscreen’s international sales director, was among those visiting from the UK.

“We are very excited to launch our Premiertrak 600 here in Australia as the most recent addition to our jaw crushing range,” McCartney said during the event. “Here in Perth, the Premiertrak 600 jaw, along with the 1150 Maxtrak cone, have pushed the boundaries of machine efficiency, delivering high capacity at an attractively low cost per tonne of quality finished material.

“This launch event has been a huge success and I … congratulate Lincom on delivering a professional, enjoyable and safe display. Powerscreen customers across Australia … are assured that their needs can be met with Lincom’s vast equipment knowledge and commitment to customer support.”

Watterson agreed the event had been very successful with “a good turnout” and said customers had commented on the “seriously impressive” performance of the Powerscreen equipment.

“A number of positive negotiations have resulted from the event and we’ve also received several new orders,” he added.

Lincom is a family-owned business based in Narangba, Queensland that supplies and manufactures crushing, screening, recycling and washing plant across Australasia. Locally, Lincom has offices in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and WA, with agents operating in Tasmania, South Australia and the Northern Territory. Lincom also has a presence in New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and China.
