Supplier assists Pilbara mobiles to run around the clock

OPS Screening & Crushing has been providing a professional equipment supply and back-up service to the mining, quarrying, earthmoving and civil construction industries in South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory since 1989.
The company prides itself on providing a complete service for a vast array of equipment including screening, crushing, washing, recycling and materials handling applications.

OPS is the dealer for Terex Finlay and Terex Washing Systems in WA and the NT, and also the SA, WA and NT dealer for Telestack and Rubblemaster products. OPS has supplied crushing, screening and conveying equipment to many of the largest blue chip mining companies through various channels for many years.

One such company is DSO Iron Ore, which is planning to increase its production to 127 million tonnes of iron ore in the 2014 fiscal year. DSO has a series of existing and relatively new mining operations and engages a number of contractors to achieve its challenging production targets.

Six of these contractors have chosen to use the mobile crushing and screening range from Terex Finlay, with OPS supplying and maintaining the machinery in WA. They have made this choice due to the high performance levels of the plant and equipment and the back-up service OPS provides when it comes to sales, rental, maintenance, repair and spare parts supply.

The Terex Finlay range is well represented in the Pilbara, with these contractors using no fewer than 35 machines in various configurations to provide a 10mm fines product. All the main Terex Finlay mobile crusher variations are represented, with several J-1175 and J-1480 jaw crushers used in a primary crushing setting, along with C-1550 and C-1540 cone crushers as secondary and tertiary crushers.

The Terex Finlay screen range is also well represented by the 683, 693+, 883 and 984 models. The screens are all important when creating a fine product from surface mined material, as there is a very high percentage of fines present in the feed. To achieve maximum throughput it is important that these “natural” fines are removed from the crushing circuit quickly and efficiently.

Combined, these plants are producing tens of thousands of tonnes of material, worth millions of dollars, every single shift. The equipment has proven extremely reliable in very challenging conditions.

OPS carries a comprehensive range of mobile screening, crushing and stockpiling plant spares and associated products and has the experience to supply and maintain these machines, which are running around the clock.

The company can also provide extensive workshop-based and on-site training and commissioning services where required. No matter how good equipment is, OPS has numerous field service technicians available to ensure operations run as smoothly and productively as possible and can assist with breakdowns, scheduled servicing, general maintenance or refurbishments.

In the east coast states and South Australia, Finlay Screening & Crushing Systems is the dealer for Terex Finlay and Terex Washing Systems products.
