Quick response for contract business

A central Queensland contractor has met its obligations with little delay, thanks to a full suite of new mobile crushing and screening equipment from the Lincom Group.
Mining industry veteran Ed Crichton and his wife Vicky manage Ed’s Excavators Crushing and Screening, which has grown to be one of the largest mobile crushing and screening contractors in northern Queensland. It provides a full range of crushing, screening and excavation equipment and services to the quarrying and resources industries, along with trained operators with full field service and support.

Its modern fleet of tracked machines includes four Powerscreen jaw crushers, five Powerscreen cone crushers, four Powerscreen screening plants, three excavators, four wheel loaders and four stockpile conveyors.

Recently the company took delivery of a Powerscreen XA750S, Powerscreen Maxtrak 1500, Powerscreen Warrior 2400, Telestack TC424 and a Telestack TC421. All were sold and delivered by the Lincom Group and are for a contract in the central Queensland region to supply 8000 tonnes of -25mm 2.1 roadbase per shift.

“We coupled the new machinery with some of our existing plant to meet the demands of the contract,” said Ed Crichton. “We have the XA750 feeding the Maxtrak 1500 with an all-in feed, then the material splits over two Warrior 2400 screening plants. The oversize off each screen is then recirculated into the Maxtrak 1300 cone crushers. The fines off each side of the plant are then transferred onto the Telestack conveyors for stockpiling.”

This new deal with Lincom was completed within three days and the machines were being commissioned on-site within 10 days. This is a quick turnaround for mobile equipment.

“These are the larger products that Powerscreen manufactures and they usually come with a long lead time but we recognised the need to stock such machines to accommodate our customer inquiry level,” said Stephen Watterson of Lincom.

“Most jobs at the moment can’t wait the long lead time so you have to be able to have the stock on the ground.”
