New mobile screens cause a stir in Paris

Terex Finlay has launched two new additions to its mobile screen range: the 684 tracked mobile inclined screen and the 863 tracked compact mobile heavy duty screener.
The 684, which was launched amidst much fanfare at Intermat 2012 in Paris in March, is a highly versatile, adaptable machine engineered and built for working in quarrying, mining, construction and demolition debris, topsoil, recycling, sand, gravel and aggregate applications.

It is a compact easily transportable machine that offers operators rapid set-up and tear down times.

The new screenbox on the Finlay 684 features three full size 4.3m x 1.7m (14’ x 6’) inclined decks, giving a large screening area of 21.9m2 to provide efficient screening and high capacity.

The screenbox features quick wedge tensioning, access holes and a bottom deck hydraulic tensioning system to reduce time required for mesh changes.

All four discharge conveyors hydraulically fold for transport, providing the operator with rapid set-up and tear down times.

The fourth product “oversize plus” conveyor can work at varying angles to accurately discharge material for recirculation and stockpiling.

A high performance 1050mm (42”) belt feeder, with hydraulic gearbox drive, is fitted to the machine as standard and has proven performance and versatility in demanding and varied working environments. The hopper has a 8m³ capacity as standard and can be fitted with a 14 foot tipping grid or 12 foot vibrating grid.

The 863’s screenbox angle can be adjusted hydraulically between 14 and 18 degrees.

A Caterpillar C4 82kW (111Hp) air cooled engine is used to power the machine. The heavy duty crawler tracks, and optional radio remote control unit, make on-site mobility very easy.

This fully self-contained plant can be hydraulically folded and ready for transport in less than 30 minutes, making it an ideal machine for contract screening.

TRACKED MOBILE HEAVY DUTY SCREENER
Like the 684, the 863 heavy duty screen is also built for work in quarrying, construction and demolition debris, topsoil, recycling, sand, gravel, and aggregate applications where site space is at a premium.

The aggressive forward facing inclined modular configuration screenbox has a 2755mm x 1200mm (9’ x 4’) top deck and a 2755mm x 1200mm (9’ x 4’) bottom deck.Depending on the working application of the machine, the screenbox angle can be adjusted hydraulically between 14 and 18 degrees.

The top deck of the screenbox can be fitted with a variety of screening media including tines, bofor bars, punched plate and mesh. The bottom deck can be fitted with mesh or cascade fingers.

A high performance 1000mm (40’) four-ply belt feeder, with hydraulic gearbox drive, is fitted to the machine as standard and has proven performance and versatility in demanding and varied working environments. The hopper has a 5m³ capacity as standard.

The machine is equipped with three hydraulically folding discharge conveyors allowing for maximum stockpiling capacity and associated benefits of rapid set-up and tear down times.

A Deutz 2011 49kW (66hp) air cooled engine is used to power the machine. The heavy duty crawler tracks, and optional radio remote control unit, make on-site mobility very easy.

An additional key feature of the machine is hydraulic raising of the screenbox discharge end to provide additional clearance for screenbox and fines transfer conveyor maintenance.

The plant has the capacity to process at a rate of up to 250 tonnes per hour and can be fed either by a tracked mobile crusher or an excavator.

Like the 684, this fully self-contained plant can be hydraulically folded and ready for transport in less than 30 minutes, making it an ideal machine for contract screening.

In Australia, Terex Finlay products are distributed by Finlay Screening & Crushing Systems (Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania).
