Safety convention and trade show around the corner

Hand in hand with the Safety In Action show to be held this year at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre in April is the Safety Institute of Australia’s National Safety Convention.
The convention program has been released and it spans 16 to 19 April, while the trade show is on from 17 to 19 April, 2012.

A number of key workshops will form part of the event with topics such as leadership, safety systems, hygiene and psychology. Bookings are vital as numbers are restricted.

More than 40 international and Australian speakers will present over the three days.

The opening day will start with David Smorgon, president of the AFL’s Western Bulldogs Football Club and inaugural chairman of Family Business Australia, delivering the keynote address. Day one also includes an interactive round table forum on topical issues.

The second day opens with a keynote address from Dr Graham Phillips, presenter of ABC's Catalyst and one of the most accomplished science communicators in Australia. Subsequent to that there will be three streams to follow:
1. Responding to change in the economy.
2. Managing legislative change.
3. Lessons learnt: The good the bad and the ugly.

The convention's final day will feature a keynote from Worksafe Victoria followed by two streams: planning for work health and what works well.
