Testing continues for new Hyundai crawler excavator

Hyundai Construction Equipment Australia (HCEA) first spoke of its plan to launch its largest crawler excavator, the 120-tonne R1200-9 at the Asia-Pacific International Mining Exhibition last September.
Since then the company has been conducting rigorous testing at a quarry test site in Queensland to ensure it meets conditions intrinsic to the Australian mining industry.

The R1200-9 is powered by a Cummins QSK23 diesel engine, producing 740HP (551 kW) and is part of the Hyundai Dash 9 family.

It features new technologies and innovations such as Hi-Mate, Hyundai’s remote management system that uses GPS satellite technology to enable remote evaluation of machine performance, access to diagnostic information and verification of its location.

The R1200-9 will be launched by HCEA later this year.
