Covia acquire industrial minerals division of R.W. Sidley

Covia Corporation has announced its acquisition of Ohio-based R.W. Sidley’s industrial minerals division including several assets.  

Under the terms of the deal, Covia has acquired Sidley’s sand operation in Thompson, Ohio. According to Covia, this includes the quarry and reserves, along with certain buildings, machinery, and equipment needed for operations. 

Covia’s executive vice president for industrial performance materials in the United States and Canada, Barry Esposito, said the deal expands its portfolio of industry-leading products. 

“The expanded portfolio and the combined power of our teams will help our customers secure the high-quality products they need,” he said.  

“Adding the Thompson site to the Covia portfolio also broadens our offerings in filter media, premium infill sand for athletic fields, and construction materials. 

“We’re excited to expand our network and product offerings to support customers of both companies with more options and great service.” 

Covia has a focus on high-quality products, including high-purity silica sand, nepheline syenite, feldspar, clay, kaolin, resin and coated materials, 

R.W. Sidley specialises in construction aggregates, industrial minerals, sports turf aggregates, and offers comprehensive design/build solutions for precast concrete structures through the Sidley Precast Group.
