CDE and Walker Quarries set to host innovative open day

CDE has partnered with Walker Quarries in New South Wales to host an open day of the quarry operator’s innovative wash plant.

CDE and Walker Quarries will unveil the 200-tonne-per-hour sand and wash plant to the industry on April 11.

“It’s exciting to see this plant operational to really see the benefits it has delivered, not only for Walker Quarries, but for the local construction industry and economy,” CDE general manager for Australasia Daniel Webber said.

“We’re really looking forward to throwing open the gates of this facility and welcoming the wider industry onto the site to see the plant in full operation.”

Commissioned at the company’s Wallerawang Quarry in New South Wales, the CDE solution is supporting Walker Quarries to produce a range of materials for the local construction industry, including two sands – 0-3mm and 3-5mm – and five aggregate products – 5-3 mm, 10-7 mm, 20-14 mm, 22.5-75mm and +75mm oversize.

The 200TPH plant taking centre stage at the event comprises of CDE’s M-Series M4500 modular wash plant, an AggMaxTM scrubbing and classification system, an AquaCycleTM high-rate thickener, and a filter press sludge dewatering system. It also incorporates CDE SmartTech, a plant management app that enables customers to better understand their plant’s performance, schedule maintenance and easily order parts.

“We’re delighted with the success of the entire project, from the initial discussions, right through to the installation and aftersales care, the entire team at CDE has included us every step of the way and completely exceeded our expectations,” Walker Quarries quarry manager Wayne Chapman said.

“Since the new wash plant has become operational, there has been an ease in production bottlenecks.

“The plant’s flexibility in configuration has allowed us to develop new high grade products such as a Thermal Resistivity (TR) Sand. We’re excited to show this new offering to the market.”

The open day event takes place on Thursday April 11, from 09:00 – 16:00. Please note, registration is mandatory. For more information and to secure a place, visit
