Hills Quarry Products, part of Hills Group, has unveiled the latest part of its business expansion by opening its eighth concrete plant.
The company, which is one of England’s well-known aggregate producers, has opened a new site in Wilmington, which will enhance its concrete offering.
It follows on from Hills’ Swindon site opening earlier this year, which further expanded the business. The Hills Group has recently advocated for a former WW2 airfield to be turned into a sand and gravel quarry in Down Ampney.
“Following the recent opening of our Swindon plant, the Wilmington site will expand our ready-mixed concrete business even further,” Hills Quarry Products group director Peter Andrew said.
“The new team at Wilmington will be working closely with the concrete team at Woodsford Quarry in Dorset. The plant will offer a wide range of delivery vehicles provided by site owner and franchisee Adrian Clarke.”
Based near Honiton in Devon, the plant will also be registered with the Quality Scheme for Ready-Mixed Concrete (QSRMC).
“We are delighted to have extended our presence in the South West with our new site near Honiton,” Hills Quarry Products commercial business manager Terry Newsham said.
“The opening of our Wilmington concrete plant will further enhance the level of service we can provide to our customers.”
