Holcim Australia announces brand new partnership

Holcim

Holcim Australia announced a new part of its business with a charity venture alongside Habitat for Humanity.

The former will be an impact partner with HFH to help provide shelter and housing solutions to vulnerable people in Australia.

The company is usually more known for its work within Australia with aggregates, ready mix concrete as well as concrete pipe and products but it does have an extensive charity portfolio.

Holcim chief executive George Agriogiannis said the partnership was very important to his company.

“As a global leader in innovative and sustainable building solutions, Holcim is taking action worldwide to create a positive social impact via affordable housing and social initiatives in the communities in which we operate,” Agriogiannis said.

“We are proud to be partnering with Habitat for Humanity Australia to improve access to housing for those who need it most.”

The company estimates it has provided close to $280 million to causes that support affordable housing initiatives over the past five years.

Its employees contributed around 30,000 volunteer hours to these causes.

Habitat for Humanity Australia chief executive Nicole Stanmore said the partnership will help people in tough life situations.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Holcim to help us deliver appropriate housing solutions for vulnerable groups and low-income families,” Stanmore said.

Habitat for Humanity provides shelter solutions for vulnerable groups and responds to natural disasters with which has assisted families to build back homes, communities and hope in Australia.

Under the new partnership Holcim will also donate building materials for use on projects that empower families to build a stronger future.
