IQA engages young talent in upcoming site tour

IQA

The Young Members Network (YMN) of the IQA NSW Branch has planned a site tour which is set to provide an opportunity for education, networking and professional development.

Taking place on 5 April 2023, the IQA has facilitated a trip to the Boral operated Peppertree Quarry in the NSW Southern Tablelands town of Marulan.

Peppertree Quarry is a hard rock aggregates quarry that began operations in early 2014 and extracts up to 3.5 million tonnes of primary production annually.

There will be a site tour of the facility where attendees will have the chance to observe a Lokotrack LT160 – one of the largest in-house mobile crushers in Australia – in operation and hear from the quarry team.

Attendees will then visit the Marulan South Limestone Mine Lookout, directly south of Boral Peppertree Quarry where there will be a viewing of the pit and discussions available to be had with the Quarry Manager.

The Limestone Quarry dates back as far as the 1830s with today’s operations producing up to four million tonnes of limestones and 200,000 tonnes of clay/shale per year.

The YMN is a network and support system for young people currently in and entering the industry, designed to assist the development of the young members in the extractive industry and provide networking opportunities.

Providing the opportunity to network with like-minded people in the industry and the chance to grow with peers though sharing ideas and experiences, the event – which is open to all – is not one to be missed.

Tickets and further information on the itinerary for the site tour can be found on the IQA event page.
