Sofia Sirvell has been appointed as chief digital officer for Sandvik to lead the digital transformation of the company.

Sirvell is currently Sandvik group chief information officer, a position she has held since 2021 and is set to be included in the new role of chief digital officer and member of the group executive management as of 1 March 2023.

In previous experience, Sirvell was the deputy chief technical officer at H&M Group, fulfilling a leading role in the company’s digital transformation.

Within the new chief digital officer role, Servill is set to continue and innovate the digital transformation of Sandvik and support collaboration across the wider Group to enhance digital capabilities and IT.

Sirvell will continue to lead the global group IT organization and report to Stefan Widing, chief executive officer and president of Sandvik, as Widing spoke on.

‘There is a strong strategic focus to deliver on the digital transformation of Sandvik, which entails both developing our digital customer offering and strengthening the digital capabilities across Sandvik,” Widing said.

“The global support function for IT plays a key role in driving this shift. The addition of Sofia Sirvell to the group executive management is a natural and positive step, and I am confident that she, with her competence, will contribute in an excellent way to the team.”
