Boral appoints new chief financial officer


Boral appoints Belinda Shaw as chief financial officer in recent announcement.

Boral announced the appointment of Belinda Shaw as chief financial officer (CFO) on 24 October, to start in the position effective 30 January 2023.

Shaw is currently Acting CFO at Sydney Airport, where she has also held senior finance roles since 2019.

As an experienced CFO with significant experience in senior executive and finance roles, prior to their time at Sydney Airport, Shaw worked at General Electric Company (GE), where her career spanned 15 years, during which time they holding a number of senior executive roles in Asia and the Americas, including CFO of ANZ & PNG.

Shaw will take over from current acting CFO, Jared Gashel, who has held the position since 19 April 2022.

The change comes after the company reported improved financial year 2022 results, with plans to further improve on those in 2023.

Chief operating officer and managing director of Boral, Vik Bansal, spoke on the benefits of the inclusion of Shaw to the company in a recent statement.

“I am delighted to welcome Belinda Shaw to the Boral team,” Bansal said, “she is an outstanding finance executive with a strong track record in financial management and strategic planning.”

“Belinda brings a diverse skillset to Boral, derived from their experience in working in high-growth industries across multiple geographies.

“With a focus on commercial and operational success and having held previous roles at leading infrastructure companies including Sydney Airport, I am confident that Belinda is the right fit to help drive the business forward.”

“Additionally, I want to thank Jared Gashel for his valuable contribution during his time in the role and for his ongoing support during this period of transition for the company.”

Commenting on her appointment as CFO, Shaw said that she was excited for the opportunity to be working with the company.
