The Institute of Quarrying Australia (IQA) is looking to hire an events co-coordinator based in Melbourne, Vic on a part-time basis.

The Institute of Quarrying Australia (IQA) is looking to hire an events co-coordinator based in Melbourne, Vic on a part-time basis.

Reporting to the head of events and engagement, the part-time events co-ordinator will help IQA branch committees deliver events across Victoria.

The role is idea for someone who considers themselves a “people-person” and will require working as part of team to deliver events such as golf days, technical seminars, conferences, education events, dinner meetings, breakfasts, as well as national education courses and more.

About the role 

The events coordinator will be required to provide work in cooperation with branches and sub-branches to develop, support and execute approved events, including providing administrative support as directed.

The events coordinator will also work with an engaging committee to plan and market events aligned to industry needs.

This includes coordinating all sponsorship, venue, speaker, facilitator and delegate registration for events and education programs as directed.

The events coordinator will also prepare sponsorship documents and manage relationships with sponsors for events in line with company policy and protocol.

Likewise, the events coordinator will be in charge of managing a project plan and budget for delegated events as per prescribed procedures and templates for face-to-face and virtual/online events.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role working with stakeholders or committees and show strong organisational and project management skills.

They will demonstrate proven ability in end-to-end event management, excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong computer skills in working with Microsoft Office suite and database experience.

A relevant diploma or tertiary qualification in event management, business or marketing is desirable, but not essential.

The role will also require candidates show demonstrate the ability to work autonomously (virtually).
