Liebherr has supplied crane and heavy haulage contractor Magis with a new LTM 1750-9.1 mobile crane.

The acquisition of the new crane will strengthen Magis’ crane fleet at its base in Taranto in southern Italy.

A fundamental corporate principle for Magis is keeping up with current developments in safety and sustainability and Liebherr’s cranes are a key part in achieving this.

“The new crane expands the capacity of our portfolio. As for all the other new machines in our fleet, the decision was made to purchase from Liebherr because the company stands for technical reliability, performance, innovation and an eye for detail,” Magis technical and commercial director and member of the board of directors Andrea Caroppi said.

Magis shopped around before making the decision to invest in the LTM 1750-9.1 crane.

It was specifically looking for machines that could meet current reliability and competitiveness standards. Likewise, it was crucial that the machine included latest developments in safety and sustainability.

“At the end of all our deliberations, we decided on a Liebherr telescopic mobile crane, which delivers a high level of mobility as well as short set-up times whilst also being powerful in its various configurations,” Caroppi said.

The LTM 1750-9.1 has become a flagship in the Magis fleet as the most powerful crane operated by the company.

Due to the crane’s high lifting capacities, infrastructure and energy sensor, it can cover a wide range of jobs in multiple sectors.

Magis plans to use the LTM 1750-9.1 for a wide variety of operations, including new construction and demolition of plant and structures in the industrial sector.

“We believe that a crane of this type and capacity will enable us to complete hoisting work which has previously been beyond us, for example for the erection of wind turbines,” Caroppi said.

Acquiring the LTM 1750-9.1 means that Magis now has a fleet comprised entirely of Liebherr cranes.
