Shovel-ready resource up for grabs in Townsville

A high-quality lithic gravel resource has gone up for sale in the Townsville region, with development approval to extract up to 200,000 tonnes per annum.

The current owner has performed initial development work and is now seeking a new owner to maximise the resource potential.

As Australia’s east coast recovers from flood damage, such resources will be rising in demand and this site is strategically located for future major infrastructure projects, according to planning consultancy, Groundwork Plus.

“With planned and future infrastructure spending in the region, Project Petram represents an opportunity for investment or to secure supply from this strategically important resource for an integrated business position,” Groundwork Plus stated.

The products able to be extracted from Project Petram include roadbase, concrete and asphalt aggregates, manufactured sand, a range of fill material and decorative aggregates.
