Funeral service details announced for Lincom great

Lincom Group has shared the details of the funeral service for company founder Robert “Roy” Watterson, which will be livestreamed around Australia.

Watterson’s life will be celebrated at the Lakeview Room of Albany Creek Cemetery in Queensland, north of Brisbane, at 11:00am Brisbane Eastern Australian Standard Time on Wednesday, 19 January*.

Some COVID-19 restrictions will be in place at the service, including a capacity limit of 175 people inside the chapel.

In consideration of those unable to attend due to COVID-19 restrictions, the ceremony will be livestreamed online. No password is required to view the service.

In place of floral tributes, Watterson’s family has asked that donations be made to the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard QF3 Redcliffe.

Roy Watterson, 67, was piloting his light aircraft on Sunday 19 December, 2021, when it crashed into the sea at the end of the runway of the Redcliffe Aerodrome.

“Roy leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his passion, energy and sense of irreverence will never be forgotten,” a statement from Lincom read.

“In his work life, Roy was known as a strategic thinker and a great communicator/talker. He enjoyed the dynamics of working at Lincom with his three children – Stephen, Lindsey and Robert Watterson – and his sister Sandie and his sister-in-law Vivian.”

Quarry Magazine extends its deepest sympathies to Lincom Group and the Watterson family.

May Roy Rest in Peace.
