CDE global conference upsizes in May

Sand processing equipment manufacturer CDE Global will hold its second virtual symposium in May, following the success of the inaugural event last October.

The global conference will be held across three days – one more than in 2020 – from 18 to 20 May, and will focus on a range of challenges, issues and innovations facing the wet processing industry.

CDE Global’s chief executive officer Marc Jennings said the conference will cater to the various needs of its global industry.

“Extending to three days, our virtual conference will host live seminars in multiple languages, carefully curated to facilitate different time zones so we can engage in real time with customers, peers and industry leaders to address issues of the day, innovative technological advances and, of course, opportunities, as we emerge from the current global crisis,” Jennings said.

Each day of the conference will cater to a different language and time zone. 18 May will focus on the Australasian market, 19 May on the Middle Eastern, African and wider European markets, and 20 May for the Americas.

With last year’s event involving more than 100 industry presenters at 90 sessions, the upcoming 2021 event promises to share a breadth of knowledge.

Live panel discussions and virtual chatrooms will be used to convey the bulk of the information. Quarry Magazine editor Damian Christie will host one such panel and the session will be called ‘We Built this City: Assessing the Supply and Demand for Geological Construction Materials for a Global City’.

The panel will focus on the Greater Sydney Region’s construction materials needs, and it will welcome CDE regional manager for Australasia Daniel Webber, principal and managing director for RW Corkery & Co Mitchell Bland, and principal of Ecoroc Dugald Gray.

Inside Waste editor Mike Wheeler will also be involved with a panel called ‘Resource Recovery and Diversion from Landfill for the Demolition Industry.’

Jennings said the virtual symposium enables CDE Global to facilitate dialogue with industry professionals and to allow the industry to grow from within.

“As we adapt and change to life in this new world, we will continue to share our expertise and learn from leading industry professionals, to create our best world one tonne at a time. We are excited to announce our hugely successful virtual symposium will return for 2021 as a way to learn together, wherever in the world we are,” Jennings said.

Registration is free, but places will be limited for some roundtable and seminar sessions. For more information about the event or to register, visit cdeglobal.com/vevent
