Metso Outotec enlists fresh distributor for screen media

Metso Outotec has strengthened its reach in the Australian screen media market, signing a distribution contract with Advanced Engineering Group.

The Australian distributor began selling and supporting Metso Outotec’s synthetic screen media product in March 2021. Now the contract has made the arrangement official.

Products distributed will include Metso Outotec’s premium brand of high reliability synthetic media, both modular and cross tensioned.

Vice president for Metso Outotec’s Asia Pacific Distribution Shaun Fanning said the contract should help the manufacturer cope with an increase in demand.

“The production of aggregates in Australia has increased with newer and larger operations which have a higher focus on cost-efficiency and quality of materials. The move towards synthetic media has evolved from this demand,” Fanning said.

“Metso Outotec has developed a range of synthetic screening media to support customer needs. Together with Advanced Engineering Group (AEG), we can offer fast and easy access to screening media for the Australian customers.”

According to Metso Outotec’s screening sales support manager for the Asia Pacific market, Bill Ziogos, the companies complement each other well. With Metso Outotec’s quality of product and AEG’s industry know-how, Australian quarrying producers can expect to see Metso Outotec products around quarry sites for years to come.

“They are well known in the industry with over 25 years of expertise and vast technical knowledge offering a complete range of screen media products to the aggregate industry,” Ziogos said.

AEG managing director Dave Hastie said the contract opens up opportunities for some exciting new plans.

“It is exciting times for us and the customers,” Hastie said. “We have built our business on quality products and service during the past 25 years.

“We look forward to growing the Metso Outotec brand as well as introducing our range of products to a wider clientele. The partnership is an important step in building our new superstore where the customers have access to a one-stop shop of synthetic media, screen mesh and accessories in a timely and simplified manner.”
