Upcoming expo offers unique environment, live demonstrations

The tenth Steinexpo will be held from 30 August to 2 September on a quarry belonging to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group at Nieder-Ofleiden, Germany. The event runs on a three-year cycle and is expected to draw more than 48,000 industry professionals and visitors from around the world.

Steinexpo will focus on live demonstrations that highlight some newly available machinery and equipment and what the market has to offer in the way of loading and crushing.

Organised by international company Geoplan, the open-air exhibition has been held at the Nieder-Ofleiden quarry since 1990. According to Steinexpo, the last expo – held in 2014 – accommodated 254 exhibitors and just over 48,000 visitors, an increase of 18 per cent compared to the 2011 show.

Furthermore, of these numbers, 23 per cent were international visitors, leaving organisers to describe the event as the ‘most effective way for a compelling product and machine presentation’.

According to Geoplan, foreign country participation stood at just over 22 per cent (countries other than Germany). Out of the 254 exhibitors and 380 brands represented, 89 per cent were from EU and CEE countries, and 11 per cent from other countries.

Billed as the tenth anniversary edition, companies such as Atlas Copco, Sandvik, Terex Finlay and Wirtgen are set to demonstrate their innovations at this year’s expo.
