Peter Bardsley, a 48-year old photographer from Cumbria, was exploring a nearby quarry where he took what appears to be a chilling photograph of a skull.
The photographer, who took the image because he ?liked the reflection,? didn?t notice the death?s head until he processed the shot.
?It has not been manipulated in any way and is very spooky,? Bardsley told The Mirror. ?It’s like something from an Indiana Jones movie.?
The image is more unsettling given that the flooded slate quarry is the site of at least three deaths over the years, with divers and climbers alike falling to their doom. In 2005, rescue teams had to assist a diver who surfaced too fast after thinking he?d seen a body under the water, reported The Sun.
Despite all evidence to the contrary, Quarry maintains it does not believe in haunted pits.
