SSAB claims the pre-hardened tool steel in its Toolox 33 scoop doesn?t change, even under temperatures of up to 400?C, and also retains its shape with favourable wear characteristics across the product?s lifetime.
According to the company, the Toolox 33 scoop demonstrates favourable abrasion characteristics, and has previously been in service in slag beds in steelworks.
The steel itself is quenched and tempered, designed to have low residual stresses, which results in good dimensional stability.
