These packages are optimised to work together and support Metso primary crushers, ensuring the best productivity from the whole primary crushing station.
FEATURES
Long-term plant production is significantly improved when the primary station is equipped with a rock breaker solution.
Downtime due to build-ups and blockages can be easily cut to a minimum. This ensures a steady material flow through the primary station to the next process stages.
{{image2-a:r-w:250}}The economical impact of improved productivity means the investment payback time is typically very short.
A rock breaker solution is clearly the safest way to manage blockages and build-ups and to clear the crusher cavity. The boom and hammer with radio remote control, which is part of the standard scope of delivery, means they can be operated from a location that gives the operator unlimited visibility of the area where the rocks are moved or broken. Metso rock breaker solutions are also safely engineered and easy to maintain, with single-point lubrication of boom joints as
a standard feature.
Metso rock breaker solutions are complete functional packages optimised for primary crushing applications. Each component – breaker boom, rock breaker, hydraulic power unit and radio remote control – is optimised to work efficiently with the others, with each complete solution optimised to work most efficiently with certain Metso crushers. Each component is engineered to meet the requirements of equipment used in rough primary crushing applications.
PROCESS OVERVIEW
Rock breakers are typically used to support the primary crusher, either jaw crushers or primary gyratories. They are most commonly used to break oversized rocks on top of the crusher cavity, to move single rocks that are stuck somewhere or to break build-ups caused by multiple coarse, but not necessarily oversized, rocks.
The breakers can also be used to crush oversized boulders on top of the grids or grizzlies, or to assist material flow in chute works or other challenging places in crushing processes.
The rock breaker is also the safest tool for managing bridgings, build-ups and oversized material in the feed.
HOW IT WORKS
Metso rock breakers consist of the following components: breaker boom, impact hammer, hydraulic power unit and radio remote control.
Each rock breaker is perfectly dimensioned to operate smoothly as a complete package. Each package is optimised to support certain size jaw crushers or primary gyratory crushers.
The remote control unit can be used as a radio remote unit or a cable remote control unit, depending on customer preference. It means the operator can activate the equipment from a safe location, and from where they can easily see the area in which the rock breaker is working.
Often it is enough to move or turn rocks to help the material flow further in the process. But depending on the feed size and feed gradation more or less actual hammering is also needed.
Metso rock breakers are engineered and built for demanding primary crushing applications, to meet the same requirements as the crushers. Remote controls and proportional valves ensure smooth, agile and accurate controls that are important for safe, quick and easy operation.
