Quarry supplier launches customisable plant packages

Metso’s Life Cycle Services offering comprises four different packages that range from basic services to complete plant solutions.

Metso implemented the Life Cycle Services concept in the mining sector a few years ago but Giuseppe Campanelli, vice president of Metso’s Life Cycle Services business unit, explained that the company had recently identified “good demand” for the packages in the aggregates sector as well.

“We have built our new Aggregates Life Cycle Services offering so that our customers can easily select the solution they need to best meet their business goals,” he said. “This includes providing new ways of buying, maintaining and operating equipment.

“Though we have had Life Cycle Services aggregates contracts in certain regional markets, the new packages have been structured so that they are easier to understand and customise as needed, making them more accessible to the rest of our global client base … With this new offering, our customers are able to streamline their operations and further reduce the total cost of ownership.”

Although the new Life Cycle Services aggregates packages will be officially launched at the Bauma construction machinery exhibition in Munich, Germany in April this year, they were introduced to the Australian market about six months ago.

“[Life Cycle Services for aggregates] has been available in Australia for a short time but the Bauma launch has increased the focus on it and we’ve been getting more requests,” Metso Australasia head of aggregates Shaun Fanning told Quarry.

Commenting on the benefits of the new offering, Fanning added, “We can tailor [the Life Cycle Services packages] to suit whatever the customer’s demands are for buying and maintaining plant – both fixed and mobile.”

The four Life Cycle Services packages are:

  • Scheduled inspections.
  • Shutdown and wear parts optimisation.
  • Shutdown and process optimisation.
  • Maintenance and process optimisation.

According to Metso, the packages are designed to improve plant reliability and availability, increase production efficiency, and reduce financial risk without compromising safety.

The packages can also be scaled to cover a single-event shutdown or to span multiple years of equipment servicing.

Metso, which is headquartered in Finland, manufactures both static and mobile crushing and screening plant for the aggregates sector. The company also supplies the mining, construction, oil and gas, and pulp and paper industries.
