New global screen alliance formed

Effective from 1 January, 2012, Canadian screen specialist WS Tyler, representing its German parent company Haver & Boecker, acquired a 40 per cent interest in fellow Canadian screen media specialist Major Wire Industries. WS Tyler will purchase the remaining 60 per cent stake in Major Wire in 2016.
The new partnership brings together two companies with a collective experience of over 250 years in screening and a broad product line of vibrating screens, washing and pelletising equipment and screen media.
As part of the new arrangement, Major Wire will manage WS Tyler?s own woven wire facility in Salisbury, US with the intent to serve Major Wire?s extensive dealer network in the US and Latin America.
Both companies? other operations globally will continue to operate independently. WS Tyler and Major Wire dealers and representatives throughout the world will also continue serving their respective customers and prospects. In Australia, Major Wire products, including its Flex-Mat 3 tensioned Modular and Optimum Wire woven wire screens, are distributed by the Sydney-based Nepean Group.
?Our alliance with Major Wire will prove to be a unique opportunity for two family-owned manufacturers to effectively employ their combined strengths and expertise to the benefit of the North American and global mining, mineral and aggregate markets,? declared Walter Haver, the joint owner of Haver & Boecker. ?It is clearly a win-win for all personnel, sales channels, vendors and most of all, the customers we serve.?
?A few years ago, I began developing a succession plan that would ensure that Major Wire would continue to expand and provide a long-term opportunity for our employees after I retire,? explained Jean Leblond, president and owner of Major Wire Industries. He added that he has found a partner that shares the same values, desire to invest in the future and focuses on the customer first.
