New centre set to improve equipment supplier service

Although Liebherr Australia’s new Queensland sales and service centre began operating in April this year, its official opening ceremony was held last month.

The 3000m3 facility, which is located on a 6000m3 site in Yatala, southeast of Brisbane, includes a workshop with internal gantry cranes, a wash bay and a spare parts warehouse. {{image2-A:R-w:250}}

The centre is part of the company’s larger strategy to increase support for its Australian and New Zealand customers, with further investments planned for the coming years. These include expansion of infrastructure at Liebherr’s Perth, Mackay and Singleton sites.

The company also recently opened a component remanufacturing centre and a new warehouse and logistics centre at its Adelaide site and established a new service subsidiary in Newman.

“The brand new facility enables Liebherr to provide customers with even better service,” a Liebherr Australia press release stated. “Liebherr will be using this location to serve customers and potential clients locally.”

Opening ceremony celebrates German roots
The new centre’s opening ceremony celebrated the Australian subsidiary’s European roots with a German beer garden theme.

More than 100 customers, guests and Liebherr staff attended the event, admiring the mobile cranes and earthmoving machines that were on display while enjoying southern German music and a traditional German buffet.

Liebherr Australia, which was founded in Adelaide in 1981, is part of the Swiss-based international equipment manufacturer Liebherr Group. The company employs more than 800 staff across sites located in Adelaide, Sydney, Singleton, Perth, Newman, Melbourne, Brisbane and Mackay in Australia, and Auckland and Matamata in New Zealand.
