Fleet of new trucks in Australian livery begin national tour

The Metro-Liner, Granite, Trident, Super-Liner and Titan trucks all took to the streets in cities and towns across the country, painted in colours that reflect the Australian landscape.

?The new Mack Trucks offer more power and torque, improved fuel economy and longer service intervals to deliver vehicles that set a new benchmark for American trucks in Australia,? said Dean Bestwick, the general manager of Mack Trucks.

As part of the national tour, Mack Trucks is also introducing the home grown mDRIVE, an automated manual transmission designed and engineered to seamlessly integrate with the new MP8 SCR engine in order to create an efficient, powerful driveline, with customised software that can provide application excellence in construction or on road environments.

?The combination of MP8, mDRIVE and Mack steer and drive axles provides operators with the peace of mind of an all-Mack driveline, a combination that provides durability, reliability and application excellence,? said Dean Bestwick.

The Built for Australia 2011 cavalcade visited Mack Truck dealerships in Sydney, Albury, Laverton, Gippsland and Dandenong in February. In March, the cavalcade will first take in Webster Trucks in Tasmania, followed by Newcastle, Brisbane, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville and Darwin. It will then move to Adelaide in May. Dates for events in Perth are still to be confirmed.
