Excavator grade control system

The Earthworks X100 displays bucket position relative to desired grade. With instant feedback it improves the operator?s accuracy and efficiency when digging foundations, trenching, cutting a slope and in many other excavation applications. It includes three angle sensors and a colour touch screen terminal that is capable of displaying the bucket teeth or tool position to within two centimeters (2cm).
?Contractors can bid more competitively on jobs with greater confidence and predictability and grow business profits,? explained John Bohlke, general manager of Earthworks at Hemisphere GPS. ?Even the smallest contractor will quickly realise the benefits of higher productivity, increased safety and the elimination of rework.?
When using the Earthworks X100, the operator sets the desired grade line in the terminal, references the bucket or tool and then digs or fills to grade based on the visual feedback from the terminal. Bucket or tool position relative to grade is displayed graphically along with a generous numerical cut/fill readout. Grade checking is no longer necessary and the operator can remain in the cab while operating the system.
The system can be upgraded to either Earthworks X200 or X300, the full 2D and 3D excavator grade control systems capable of shaping dual slopes and more complex design surfaces.
