Elliptical motion screens

They are ideal for end screening, dry screening of sticky material, waste screening, wet screening, stationary applications, headroom restrictions and materials including abrasive rock, soft rock, gravel, recycled and industrial materials and slag.

They can be employed in quarries, gravel pits and crushing and screening contract applications.

The combination of horizontal decks, high acceleration and aggressive elliptical vibration provide a strong stratification of the bed depth, ensuring the highest screening accuracy.

{{image2-a:r-w:250}}The Premier ES employs a universal deck design that accepts both tensioned screening panels and modular snap-on panels. The screen angle is adjustable from zero to 10 degrees, to increase the capacity when needed. Stroke and RPM parameters can be set up within a wide range to meet the optimal performance.

The integrated feedbox is very deep and long enough to allow easy interface with the feed conveyor. Furthermore, the feedbox design provides immediate particle distribution over the first panel row of the top deck, again ensuring higher efficiency.

The comfortable room between the decks is a strong health and safety feature that contributes to safe and fast panel replacement. This feature is unique to the market for a horizontal elliptical motion screen.


The Premier ES horizontal screens are commonly processing secondary separations or fine separations. They are also solid performers for waste screening and all other difficult applications, eg when feed is made of flaky particles (pegging challenge) or is sticky (clogging challenge). They are also recommended for wet processes, including washing or rinsing.

The ES screen’s two unbalanced shaft lines rotate in opposite directions to generate a high energy elliptical motion. This gearless solution is more efficient than conventional horizontal screens with linear motion, and more reliable than other elliptical motion screens. There is no mechanical timing device, no gears, no timing belt and no oil leakage.

Each shaft line is made of MV modular vibrators (unique to the market) that are flange-mounted to the side walls and synchronised by a cardan shaft. Each MV modular vibrator has eccentric counterweights creating the desired stroke. To facilitate servicing, Metso offers an exchange program for MV vibrators.

The side walls and the cross-members are weld-free to accommodate fatigue stress. As standard, the integrated feedbox and the discharge spouts are fitted with replaceable rubber liners (premium wear protection). Optional cross-member liners are available, along with a bolted design (not glued) that allows for easy and fast replacement when worn out.
