Driver fatigue monitor improves safety

The driver fatigue monitor, which is small, user-friendly and easy to set up, can be mounted on any vehicle dashboard and can be used both during the day and at night.

It determines the driver’s level of fatigue or drowsiness using infrared technology, which calculates the percentage of eye closures over a period of time (the “PERCLOS” method).

Upon detecting fatigue, or when it loses contact with the driver’s eyes, the monitor will emit an audible warning directing the driver to keep their eyes on the road. If ignored, the warnings will increase and eventually a loud siren will sound to warn the driver to take action.

The device works through sunglasses and in the dark, and can also be connected to any fleet management system for monitoring.
