Custom-made screens that can deliver on quality

As one of the few Australasian manufacturers of inclined screens and scalping screens, Rocktec can offer its customers all the engineering support, spare parts and services that may not be as readily available with imported screens.
?We can be competitive with imported screens by offering a quality Australasian manufactured product with superior materials and proven performance, and of course we can offer after sales support,? Southern Cross Engineering Group sales and marketing manager Jason Tapper said.
?Throughout Rocktec?s history, we have manufactured well over 150 screens, many specific to the customers? requirements, from small single decks through to the top end large multi-deck screens.?
Tapper said Rocktec had worked with other companies? replacement programs, providing new screens for plant requiring upgrading or for older plant that was second hand, imported from overseas or even home-built.

The design and manufacture of all Rocktec?s Avalanche products occurs at the company?s plant in Matamata, New Zealand.
?Because we design and manufacture from our own engineering workshop, new replacement screens can be designed to fit into the gap of the screen that is being replaced, often without any changes to surrounding equipment and structures,? Tapper said.
Along with design and manufacturing, Rocktec has a site service team for the mechanical installation and servicing of new and existing screens. The company?s services include process engineering, to identify which products are required to deliver the performance its clients need.
INCLINED SCREENS
Rocktec offers three types of inclined screen: medium, heavy, and extra heavy duties. Each model is available in a number of different size configurations, from 6? x 3? single-deck medium duty through to a 20? x 8? double-deck extra heavy duty. Screens outside this range can be custom-designed and built on request. Rocktec can also manufacture screens to suit a variety of screening media types.
One of the company?s proudest success stories is a 20? x 8? double-deck extra heavy duty screen with modular screening media panels. It was supplied to a customer in 2012 for retrofitting into its existing plant as its old screen had come to the end of its useful life.
The new screen was tailored to fit the existing plant. It utilised the original sub-frame, spring mounts, motor mounts and chute work. This ensured minimal downtime during the changeover. This screen has been running now for around 5000 hours.
Rocktec is in the process of designing and manufacturing a new auxiliary crushing and screening plant for this customer. It incorporates another 20? x 8? double-deck screen, along with a 16? x 5? triple-deck and a 12? x 5? triple-deck. Rocktec?s engineering support, spare parts and service sealed the deal for this project.

SCALPING SCREENS
Rocktec manufactures a wide range of scalping screens, from a 6? x 3? heavy duty to a 20? x 8? double-deck extra heavy duty.
These screens are designed with bolt-on scalping bars, allowing for simple replacement and easy maintenance. All scalping screens feature full armour plating on infeed, outfeed and side walls.
All scalping screens come complete with sub-frames, drive assemblies and motor mounts. This ensures ease of installation and accurate alignment of the drive system. Infeed plates are also a standard feature, which reduces wear on screen media at the feed end and promotes product distribution.
Rocktec is part of SCE Group, which is one of New Zealand?s largest mechanical project engineering companies. The 2013 merger brought together two high performing companies, with established brands in their own areas of expertise. SCE Group has well established engineering capabilities over the past 59 years in areas such as coal and gypsum handling, contracting and heavy engineering.
