In the past seven years, HRQ has built its business to be one of the leading quarries on the Fraser Coast. Its products include 7mm, 10mm and 14mm aggregates, rock products ranging from -50mm to +100mm, 20-50mm and 35-75mm drainage rubble, CBR 15 fill materials, roadbase to Queensland Main Road specifications 2.1, 2.3 and 2.5, and crusher dust.

The company originally rented the GT200DF tracked cone crusher off Astec Australia as a trial. HRQ managing director Richard Kingston was seeking a machine that would give him better shape, more fines and increased tonnage on the ground from his blue rock resource.
The GT200DF, featuring Astec’s renowned Kodiak cone crusher, exceeded all Kingston’s expectations.
He noted the machine increased quality fines, produced a consistent shape at -22mm (based on this trial) and increased productivity by up to 40 per cent compared with other cone crushers trialled on the same rock source in the past.
HRQ is an emerging operation and with the performance results of the K200+, Kingston can see Astec Australia’s inventory playing a future role in his quarrying operation.
“The boys said they noticed a big difference in production while the GT200DF was working in the blue pit while our equipment was off doing a small contract crushing job for a local contractor,” Kingston said. “They seemed pretty happy with it in general.”
The GT200DF features a quarry-spec, heavy-duty K200+ cone crusher design in a highly mobile package. With a crushing capacity of up to 349 tonnes per hour, the GT200DF can be deployed quickly for maximum flexibility to economically process small volume jobs, and is designed to be as simple to operate and maintain as possible.
A loading hopper/feeder enables the plant to be operated as a standalone crusher, or an optional re-circulating conveyor enables the GT200DF to be installed in a system with a variety of screening plants.
