The acquisition takes immediate effect and forms part of ContiTech?s plans for increased investment in the Australian market, particularly within the mining and quarrying industries.
Hans-J?rgen Duensing, the head of the ContiTech Conveyor Belt Group business unit said that the acquisition strengthens the activities of the conveyor belt business unit in the Australian conveyor belt market in the long term.
In addition, the MIRS base in Western Australia will allow ContiTech to grow its business in the industrial and special-purpose conveyor belts market into the South Pacific region. The successful sales history of conveyor belts by MIRS will add momentum to ContiTech?s expansion plans.
The ContiTech Conveyor Belt Group currently has two business units in Asia, both based in China.
