Belt maintenance supplier a ?hit? with expo attendees

Flexco exhibited a wide variety of products at the exhibition (QME), including belt cleaners, trackers, idlers, transfer chutes, mechanical fasteners and the company’s signature DRX impact bed.

Flexco’s marketing and communications co-ordinator Ellaina Grixti said the company’s seminar on the best practices in belt maintenance was also well received.

“It was easy for our territory managers to be able to talk to attendees about how to implement solutions into their conveyor belt system to make their job easier, safer and faster,” Grixti said, adding that Flexco’s vision has always been to provide quality solutions for productivity.

More than 4000 attendees visited QME 2018, from 23 to 25 July, to explore the latest strategies and technologies driving productivity, profitability and protection of the industry. This was a 41 per cent increase in participation on the previous edition. According to a press release, QME had one of the most successful editions in its 25-year history.

QME 2018 director Brandon Ward stated that the success of this year’s exhibition reaffirmed the strength of the industry and its continued importance to the Queensland economy. Initial reports indicated a multi-million-dollar boost to the Mackay region.

“With the sector playing such a significant role in the nation’s prosperity, it’s important that leading companies, decision-makers, and personnel in mining and engineering have a major calendar event to come together to network and source the latest products and services,” Ward said.
