The WA500-8 is equipped with a 264 kW net Komatsu SAA6D140E-7 engine, transmission, and automatic full powershift with lock-up torque converter.
It can handle bucket capacities from 4.5m3 to 7.0m3 and has a static tipping load (GP bucket, bolt on cutting edge) at a 40° full turn of 25 tonnes. Its bucket breakout force is 24,600 kgf and has a a dump clearance of 4755mm.
The engine is Tier 4 Final certified, reducing noxious oxide and particulate matter levels by up to 90 per cent compared with its Tier 3 predecessors, and it has the potential to save fuel by up to 15 per cent on earlier models.
In addition to being obtainable for purchase, the WA500-8 is also available as part of Komatsu Rental’s hire fleet.
