Norman golf course chooses mobile supplier

The district will have a new championship course capable of hosting prestigious international tournaments at Huntley Heritage. The course is in the early stages of development.
Earlier this year, owner and developers Huntley Heritage commissioned a Kleemann MS 13 Z-AD Mobiscreen track-mounted mobile screening plant from Wirtgen Australia to scalp, screen, separate and size a range of material on the site. The aggregate was to be used for capping, drainage and other site requirements.
Kleemann?s machine was chosen because it is a rugged, simple machine to operate and is capable of screening materials at rates of up to 250 tonnes per hour.
Wirtgen Australia worked closely with Huntley Heritage operations manager David Tregonning and the Huntley team on this unique project. As well as the golf course, the owners and developers are constructing stay and play lodges, a housing estate, a clubhouse and state of the art teaching facilities for players to perfect their golfing technique.
{{image2-a:r-w:300}}Huntley Heritage chose champion golfer Norman to lend his expertise to the course design, which will become one of 80 courses around the world to carry the Norman name.
He has already visited the site and held discussions on how to make the first two holes easier, after early earthworks revealed a course too difficult for even seasoned golfers. He will visit twice yearly during the construction phase.
?If someone wanted to put a golf tournament on here, you make sure it?s done properly the first time and that?s the responsibility of the architect and the builder here,? Norman told The Illawarra Mercury.
?It?s unique in a lot of ways,? he said. ?It?s a very diverse site, as you play the front nine in the hills and the elevation changes and then you move down in the lower areas and the flat pasture areas.
?You?ve got some good creeks through here and you want to capture it with our design and we?ve done that. You get some really crappy sites, to tell you the truth, around the world, and you?re lucky when you get hold of a piece of land like this.?
The course is tipped for completion in 2015.?
