The HD9 is suitable for a range of specialised operations in the oil and mineral sector, quarrying and construction. Iveco claims that the truck combines more than 50 years of experience building highly specialised, heavy duty vehicles with the latest requirements for operator safety and comfort.
With expansive windows and rear-view mirrors, the cabin has been ergonomically designed to incorporate a variety of innovations. The company believes these innovations, when combined with the renowned durability of the Astra chassis and drivetrain, will make the new HD9 a good choice for the quarry industry.
Other vehicles displayed at AIMEX will include the Daily 4 x 4, Eurocargo 4 x 4 and the Trakker.
The Daily 4 x 4 is a purpose built off-road, light commercial truck based on the Iveco Daily platform. It is suited to off-road support and emergency services and is built on a solid steel truck chassis, complete with three differential locks for permanent all-wheel drive.
The Eurocargo 4 x 4 can be used as the chassis for off-road maintenance or support vehicles, crane trucks or elevated work platforms. The truck also incorporates special structural protection systems, including a higher chassis, steel bumper and retractable access steps.
The Iveco Trakker is a rugged truck with a gross vehicle mass of 33 tonnes, purpose-built for tough off-road jobs. With differential locks and hub reduction on all axles, the Trakker can be fitted with a tipper body and is designed to operate in mining and construction. The vehicle can also be fitted with the appropriate bodywork to create a personnel carrier.
