The WA licence is effective from 1 March for the New Zealand-headquartered company. Porter’s Australian portfolio includes Hyundai Construction Equipment quarry-spec excavators and loaders, Furukawa hammers and the Terex Trucks range of articulated haulers.

According to Porter Group’s general manager of sales and marketing Darren Ralph, the move is a “natural progression” for the company.

The appointment will also include spare parts inventory for maintenance and repairs. After-market support, quick response repairs, routine and preventative maintenance, product training and induction courses will also be on offer.

A spokesperson for Porter Group said the appointment was good news for the WA quarrying industry. “The benefits of Porter Equipment’s offering include better service, attention to customers’ needs and an alternative to the current brands available. With world-leading brands, full parts and service back-up, and a full range of finance options, the sales staff are trained and empowered to offer flexible solutions to customers' equipment needs.”

Mobile plant and equipment that will be on offer include Sandvik’s impact and jaw crushers, as well as its tracked doublescreens, scalpers and triple-deck screens.

Precisionscreen will continue to be the distributor of Sandvik mobile crushing and screening equipment for the rest of Australia. Precisionscreen’s partnership with Sandvik has been ongoing since 2008.

Established in 1945, Porter Group supplies construction equipment to companies in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and southern California.
