Local parts company thrives in Australia – and beyond

Crusher Parts International (CPI) is a 100 per cent Australian-owned and operated company. It was established in 2015 out of demand in the market for high quality, affordable replacement spare parts for the mining, recycling and quarrying sectors.

High quality replacement spare parts and wear parts for machinery in the mining industry are paramount to keeping a company’s productivity consistent, downtime to a minimum and maintenance intervals as short as possible.

Service from the parts supplier is as critical as the quality of its products. This includes factors such as response time to inquiries, delivery time of orders, product knowledge and after sales support.

{{image2-a:r-w:350}}According to Daniel Ritchie, the managing director of CPI, the South Australian-based company is focused on customer support and satisfaction. Its motto is to "crush the myth” that high quality spare parts and equipment have to be expensive.

As a result, CPI seeks to offer 'first class' replacement parts at affordable prices that exceed customers’ expectations.

“We go out of our way to keep customers’ downtime to a minimum, their plant up and running and maintenance costs to a manageable level,” Ritchie said. “This enables the site to carry out regular replacement of parts that would not normally have been done as often or needed due to high overheads and expenses.”

In the three years CPI has been operating it has supported many companies across Australia, from large mining organisations to small independent contractors.

In 2016 CPI opened its central warehouse in Port Adelaide, SA, where a large variety of spare parts to suit most manufacturers are stored. This was to supply parts across Australia quickly and from stock, to keep downtime to a minimum.

CPI’s participation at the 2017 AIMEX exhibition in Sydney raised brand awareness in the market, with great responses from industry.

Going global

Building on the local market, CPI has also had a great response from the global market, with sales and customer reach exceeding all expectations. CPI supplies to North and South America, Europe and Africa, either directly from the manufacturers or from its Australian warehouse, depending on the urgency.

Ritchie said it might seem strange that customers from around the world would contact an Australian company for parts requirements rather than going to local agents.

“We have found that our product knowledge, experience, quick responses and affordable prices make us stand out from a lot of other companies,” he said. “They know they get the right advice and the right parts the first time, so they keep coming back.

“It is because of the worldwide demand for our products and services we are currently setting up new offices and warehouses in both the United Kingdom and North America.

“We will have support offices and stocked warehouses in these two regions to better support the customer in the same time zones. Parts can then be shipped out the same day, enabling the customer to get their equipment back up and running.”

In addition to its own offices and warehouses around the world, CPI is also building a dealer base, with many companies in a wide range of countries taking on the CPI brand to better support their region and local customers.

CPI’s UK office and warehouse is in the final stages of completion, and the North America office should be fully up and running by the end of June.

Dynamic Equipment

Crusher Parts International has also taken on distribution rights for Dynamic Equipment, a joint Australian/American venture to build on CPI’s foundations. Dynamic Equipment is an innovative company formed out of the increasing demand in the global market for high quality mineral processing, aggregate and mining equipment.

Ritchie said the machinery is reliable, durable, efficient and affordably priced for all applications and projects.

CPI and Dynamic Equipment can provide a full start to finish service, starting with the design, manufacture and supply of complete circuits to suit any site. The range includes jaw, cone and impact crushers, horizontal and vertical screens, feeders, washing equipment, magnets, conveyors and much more.

Ritchie is excited about the future. In addition to establishing warehouses in Europe and America, CPI has plans in place to open an office in Asia, to better quality control manufacturing sites, with the intention to open its own factory.

The dealer base will continue to grow and, later in 2018, Crusher Parts International, in conjunction with Dynamic Equipment, will launch a new range of custom-made crushers and release new products that it expects will be well received by the global market.

With so many exciting plans in the works, Ritchie said Crusher Parts International would not lose sight of its customers’ needs.

“This will always be our main goal and the new products and services will only help offer the customer more choices,” he said.
